Mistakes when playing blackjack

No overshoot

Why should you risk overcalling at all? After all, it is an automatic loss. In fact, it's not that simple. Beginners stop after 12 points. But this tactic is not always optimal.

If you stop at a combination where the probability of overcalling is less than 50%, you give the dealer an excellent chance to win. Remember that the dealer is required to stop at 17 points, and if your combination is 14 points or so, you have virtually no chance of winning.

Bets are not doubled

Many newcomers to gambling are wary of doubling their bets, as this may entail doubling the risk of losing. However, it is worth remembering that doubling your bet also offers an excellent chance of winning twice the amount. Some casinos even allow you to double your bet only under certain conditions, such as having a certain combination of cards with a high probability of winning, such as a score of 10 or 11.

Choosing tables where the dealer can stop at a soft 18

Tables where the dealer does not take cards at soft 17 points should be avoided. This is because if the dealer does not pick up cards on soft 17 points, the casino's advantage is reduced by 0.22%. At first glance, this may seem like a minor change, but in the game of blackjack, the main goal is to minimize the casino's advantage to the lowest possible level.

Favorable pairs of cards are shared

This is one of the most common mistakes. When a player has two cards with 10 or 20 points, he often decides to split them into two hands. However, this move is not always advantageous as it reduces the chances of winning. You will either be left with a small number of points or risk an overcall. The probability of a successful outcome in such a situation is greatly reduced.

Counting cards in online games

This trap is often fallen into by pros who have played in real casinos. The fact is that there you really need to count cards, it increases the chance of winning. But in virtual establishments, it is useless, because the random number generator changes the deck after the hand. The exception is online cards with a live croupier. It is still effective to use this strategy because the deck is not shuffled every time.
