Online casino reviews: believe it or not
Social proof is very powerful. You are more likely to believe the recommendation of an acquaintance rather than a pretty label. For example, if your friend drives a car of a certain model and talks in detail about all the pros and cons, you will find this information more useful than any visual tour of car dealerships.
The principle works with online casinos as well. However, not everyone has acquaintances who could tell about specific establishments and give good advice. You can read reviews of online casinos on the Internet, but here you will need to recognize fakes, bots, baiting, and other dishonest ways.
Where reviews can not be trusted
Online casinos are officially banned in many countries. For example, in Russia. But there is no punishment for playing, the state rather sluggishly blocks the next mirrors of well-known providers. To which they respond with dozens and hundreds of new ones. It is not forbidden to discuss online casinos, reviews appear in a variety of places. But in some they should be divided by ten, or even a hundred:1. On the website itself. Of course,
- On the website itself. Of course, no company will miss negative feedback. Or even pay customers to write not quite the truth. Therefore, enthusiastic reviews on the casino site should not be trusted.
- On special resources. We mean sites like Otzovik or iReccomend. They have long been a haven for professional copywriters who write about anything. For the appropriate payment.
- In social networks. Exception - if an acquaintance writes, the very friend with whom you can definitely consult. In all other cases, there is a high risk of "running into" a fake account. They are now very well "pumped up": name, photos generated by a neural network, posts to create plausible activity, etc.
So we cut off those three sources right away. We're looking for more reliable ones.
Where reviews can be trusted
An honest opinion on the Internet can still be found. The network is inhabited not only by bots and fake accounts. Therefore, we go to the following places:
- Anonymous sites. Surprisingly enough, but yes, it is quite possible to get an honest opinion here. However, there is a risk of running into the same "professional" who writes for money. But to confirm that it was you who wrote it is difficult, which means that it is also difficult to get money for a paid comment. There is a lot of honest feedback on anonymous resources.
- In-app reviews. Fakes will also get caught: these are those who installed the application only to write a paid review. And yet most of them are quite honest, from people who have installed the program on their phone or tablet.
- On specialized forums. There, they discuss online casinos, and share "flyhacks". These are communities of interest, where bots will almost certainly be immediately recognized and shamefully banned. In addition, users can be asked for advice on a particular casino. Perhaps the most reliable type of honest feedback.
Any money-related activity lures scammers and those who simply like "freebies". Therefore, it is important to be able to not only go to the right sites but also to filter reviews.
How to recognize "bogus" reviews
The task is not always easy, because many write quite plausible. Still, there are some tricks:
- little specificity - the less, the higher the risk of a "bot";
- too positive comments - the psychology of people is such that they would rather complain, and if everything is fine, they will keep silent;
- excessive details - irrelevant to the topic, for example, a long story about how you needed money for a gift to your favorite girl, and about the casino itself ten words;
- too literate review - ordinary people make mistakes, and typos, but professional copywriters are quite literate;
- incredible winnings - "I bet once, immediately earned a million and closed the mortgage" immediately ignore, we are for realism.
True review is thorough. It may not be too literate, written "ugly", with extra commas and exclamation points. But it will indicate what difficulties you encountered, how the technical support worked, whether you managed to earn money, etc.
