Starting from March 1, 2024, France's gambling regulator, ANJ (Autorité Nationale des Jeux), will implement a revision to the list of sporting events and types of bets that licensed bookmakers can offer. The updated list will see a reduction of 179 positions from the existing 951 tournaments.
ANJ explained that the exclusions were made due to a high risk of match-fixing, citing examples such as the Tunisian soccer championship and American college sports. The removal also targeted less popular tournaments with minimal betting activity, including the Armenian football championship. Additionally, some competitions included in the list have ceased to exist, prompting ANJ to eliminate them from the available options.
