$1.4 Billion Live! Casino Resort Proposed in Virginia
The Cordish Company and Brice Smith Enterprise have unveiled plans for an ambitious $1.4 billion gaming project known as Live! The Virginia Casino Resort and Hotel. The proposed development, situated at the intersection of Wagner Road and Interstate 95, aims to establish a premier gaming and entertainment district in Virginia.
The envisioned Live! Virginia Casino Resort and Hotel will span over 37,000 square feet, featuring extensive gaming, lodging, and dining facilities. Among its offerings are 1,600 slot machines, 46 card game tables, a poker room equipped with 15 tables, and a dedicated bookmaker's office.
Initially, the partners intend to launch the casino with one thousand slot machines within a year. Cordish estimates that over the first decade of operation, Live! Casinos will inject $2.8 billion into the region's economy. Moreover, the project is expected to generate substantial economic benefits, including $802 million during the construction phase and $201 million annually following its opening.
