$72 Million Blocked in Ukraine on Vbet and Pin-UP Operators' Accounts

In a recent update by Ukrainian journalist Evgeniy Plinsky on his Telegram channel "Brudni Igri," it was revealed that the accounts of bookmaker company Vbet and online casino Pin-UP have been blocked. This action was taken based on violations of the law "On Preventing and Combating the Laundering of Proceeds from Crime and the Financing of Terrorism."

Plinsky suggested that the one-month account blockage is related to suspicions of financial fraud and connections with Russia. He speculated that both allegations might be linked. A significant sum of $72 million has been reported to be blocked, with $58 million belonging to Pin-UP and $14 million to Vbet.

According to Plinsky's sources, preparations are underway for a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to discuss the functioning of the gambling market. Operators are currently under scrutiny, prompted in part by a petition from a Ukrainian serviceman who expressed concern about the proliferation of online casinos among military personnel, leading to President Volodymyr Zelensky's attention.
