Following the rebranding of gambling giant 888 to Evoke, its New Jersey-based arm, 888poker, has announced its decision to exit the market. The platform is set to cease operations on June 3, coinciding with the closure of its physical establishment. Additionally, the 888casino NJ application will be removed from the app store.
Despite this move, the departure of 888poker will not impact the operations of the international organization World Series of Poker (WSOP). Plans for the tri-state cooperative, allowing WSOP players in New Jersey, Michigan, and Nevada to access live online poker rooms, remain unaffected. Customers of 888poker and 888casino are advised to complete withdrawals from their accounts by June 3.
New Jersey is among six states that have legalized online poker, with three of them currently coordinating activities with WSOP.
