An illicit network of underground casinos has been uncovered in Kyiv, as revealed by detectives from the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine. The investigative team conducted five searches, uncovering that all illegal gambling establishments were orchestrated by the same group of individuals. These clandestine operations were conducted without the necessary licenses or permits, evading tax payments, and violating curfew regulations.
Throughout the searches, detectives confiscated over 140 pieces of computer equipment and "more than a hundred other devices," including printers used for generating checks with access codes to the illicit gambling activities. The bureau highlighted that the total value of the seized items exceeded 10 million hryvnia (slightly more than $226 thousand).
The ongoing pre-trial investigation aims to identify and apprehend the organizers behind this illicit network.
