The operator of Fallsview Casino Resort, MGE Niagara Entertainment Inc., was fined $70,000 by Ontario's Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) for violations of anti-money laundering regulations. This is in response to an instance in which a high-risk patron of the casino converted $80,000 in cash into chips and departed without placing a wager.
The AGCO stated that although the person carried the cash in a reusable bag in April 2023, the casino did not notify the authorities right away, in violation of established procedures. Fallsview Casino responded by pledging to comply and announcing that it would be appealing the ruling. They claim to follow rules and regulations.
