Aristocrat, a prominent developer of slot machines, has initiated legal action against competitor Light & Wonder, accusing them of intellectual property theft. The lawsuit alleges that Light & Wonder's Dragon Train game unlawfully replicates elements of Aristocrat's Dragon Link game, including similar audiovisual components and gaming features. Notably, Dragon Train was developed by a team comprising several former Aristocrat executives, including Emma Charles and Lloyd Sefton.
Filed in the Nevada District Court, the lawsuit contends that there are "striking similarities" between the two projects, raising suspicions that Aristocrat's intellectual property may have been utilized by individuals associated with Light & Wonder. In response, Light & Wonder has refuted the allegations, describing the lawsuit as "baseless" and emphasizing Dragon Train's inclusion in its diverse and innovative portfolio.
