Bally's showed a new casino project in Chicago
Bally's Corporation has recently announced revised plans for constructing a new casino and hotel complex in collaboration with Gaming and Leisure Properties Inc., with a budget of $2.07 billion.
The updated architectural blueprints will situate Bally's Casino adjacent to a 500-room hotel spanning 34 floors in the Chicago River vicinity. Approval from the Chicago Department of Planning and Development is still pending for the project.
The alteration in building plans occurred once it was evident that one of the planned towers could cause damage to the city's water pipes.
If the revised project is approved, the new Bally's Chicago Casino Hotel will offer amenities such as a poolside spa, fitness centre, sun terrace, rooftop restaurant and bar, as well as a casino featuring 3,300 slot machines, 173 table games, and VIP gaming zones. Additionally, there will be a theatre, restaurants, cafés, a snack bar, and even a public park.
Bally's anticipates that the project will generate approximately 3,000 construction jobs and 3,000 casino jobs upon the opening of the location.
Last week, Bally's purchased the 30-acre site that formerly housed Tribune Publishing. And now the Brandenburg Industrial Service Company, a demolition contractor, is preparing the site to clear the old structures.
Bally's aims to open the location by September 2026. Company President George Papanier says this deadline is realistic.
“With the keys to the property in hand, financing, site plans and demolition set to begin this summer, let there be no doubt that Bally's Chicago Casino and Hotel will soon rise along the Chicago River,” Papanier said.
