The Legal Forum of Belarus has released a draft decree containing a provision that could prohibit citizens of Belarus from participating in foreign online casinos. The Ministry of Taxes and Duties initiated public discussions on the proposed document.
The draft outlines the challenges faced by Belarusian operators due to the migration of players to foreign platforms. The authorities aim to restrict players from funding their accounts on sites "not governed by the laws of the country."
The proposed decree also highlights the necessity of enhancing procedures for verifying and identifying online casino users. Additionally, changes to optimize the list of permissible gambling types in Belarus and modify requirements for collecting, storing, and registering devices used by gamers have been suggested.
