Betsson has successfully acquired Holland Gaming for €27.5 million, marking a strategic move by the Swedish gambling provider to bolster its presence in the Netherlands. The acquisition encompasses two Dutch entities - operator Holland Gaming Technology and gaming studio Holland Power Gaming. Under the terms of the deal, €16 million will be paid upfront, with deferred payments of €9 million and €2.5 million scheduled after six and 12 months, respectively.
Holland Gaming Technology Ltd, possessing the online casino license, manages goldruncasino.nl and goldruncasino.com. Additionally, the gaming studio is actively involved in software development.
Notably, Betsson had withdrawn its application for a Dutch gambling license in July 2023, citing "significant delays" in the approval process, as reported by the media. However, the recent acquisition of the two Dutch organizations positions Betsson to penetrate the Dutch market successfully. According to Betsson's press service, this strategic move is expected to boost revenue from "locally regulated markets."
