The Swedish online gambling trade association (BOS) has aligned itself with the evaluation put forth by the Swedish Consumer Agency and the Consumer Commissioner concerning the daily scratch card segment featured on Trisskrapet, a television program where participants reveal scratch card results on camera.
In a bid to uphold robust consumer protection standards within the Swedish gambling industry, BOS underscores the significance of clearly delineating between gambling advertising and editorial content. BOS asserts that, in the case of Trisskrapet, the information conveyed should be unequivocally recognized as advertising.
Gustav Hoffstedt, Secretary General of BOS, emphasized the imperative for the Swedish gambling market to safeguard consumer rights effectively. He stressed the necessity for transparent delineation of gambling advertising to prevent potential misinformation. BOS expects Svenska Spel, the operator of Trisskrapet, to adhere to advertising legislation in light of these concerns.
