A 72-year-old winner was denied a $2 million jackpot by the Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City, citing a glitch in their system. The woman, a teacher from Shamong, New Jersey, experienced shock and then disappointment when casino officials informed her she would not receive her winnings.
In late February, she visited Bally's Casino in Atlantic City and played a Wheel of Fortune slot machine, spending several hundred dollars. Initially hoping to win at least $1,000, she was stunned when the entire jackpot amount appeared on the scoreboard, and gold coins poured out of the machine. The screen confirmed she had hit the jackpot by triggering a multiplier.
According to the teacher, a security team abruptly entered the area and claimed her "win" was due to a technical glitch, and therefore the money would not be paid out.
