Changes in the UK National Lottery Prize Claim Process for Scratch Cards

The UK National Lottery has modified the process for cash prize distribution for scratch card winners. Players entitled to amounts ranging from £500.01 to £50,000 will no longer be able to receive their prize money by post.

The alteration coincides with new operator Allwyn's announcement that approximately 900 post offices would cease selling lottery tickets and scratch cards due to changes in the new ten-year license.

Previously, winners had to wait a month to receive their winnings, prompting complaints from many players who faced difficulties due to the inability to claim money at post offices.

Allwyn assured players that they would receive their prizes and reminded them that winnings up to £500 could still be claimed in-store.

Before Allwyn, the lottery was operated by Camelot Group under a license obtained in 1994. The current distribution allocates about 53% of proceeds to the prize fund and another 25% to "good causes," as mandated by parliament.
