The Curacao Gaming Control Board (GCB) has announced an extension of the deadline for gaming license applications, citing a significant number of "non-standard" submissions. According to the regulator, certain applicants faced logistical challenges leading up to the original deadline, particularly existing sub-licensees seeking to continue operations in the Curacao market.
In response to these issues, the application deadline has been prolonged until April 30 to facilitate a smoother transition. The GCB emphasized that Curacao's Minister of Finance is committed to ensuring business continuity for sublicensees looking to operate outside Curacao in compliance with new regulations.
The GCB had previously published submission guidelines in March after receiving numerous low-quality applications. The regulator cautioned that subpar submissions would lead to processing delays, as additional information, amendments, or corrections would be required to meet standards.
