Denmark announced the start date for accepting licences for B2B gambling business

The Danish Gaming Authority (Spillemyndigheden) has declared that businesses looking to continue operating in Denmark's gaming sector must obtain a licence by 1st September 2024. This decision is part of the government's plans to implement a mandatory licensing framework for the gambling and betting sector.

Starting January 1, 2025, suppliers of goods and services for casinos and bookmakers must have a licence in order to provide their products to operators. B2B companies have a four-month window to obtain the necessary licence before the implementation of the new regulations.

The Spillemyndigheden also stated that additional details and updated application forms can be accessed on the official website of the Authority. The "Game Suppliers" section under "For Businesses and Organisations" contains all relevant information for those interested.

The regulatory authority emphasised the importance of having all games, platforms, procedures, and business systems of suppliers undergo testing by an independent laboratory in alignment with the certification body's standards. This ensures transparency and clarity regarding the responsibilities of operators and suppliers.

In addition to the introduction of new B2B licences, Spillemyndigheden will also launch a new portal for certificate management. This is expected to happen on October 1, 2024.
