Two Americans, Nathan Austad and Cameryn Stokes, face charges for a cyberattack on DraftKings, using illegally obtained user data for sale. Their accomplice, Joseph Garrison, has already admitted guilt.
Arrested on January 29, the suspects are accused of criminal conspiracy, wire fraud, and personal data fraud, with a potential 20-year prison sentence if convicted.
The cyberattack, affecting 60,000 DraftKings accounts, occurred in November 2022, with suspects identified in 2024. The attackers utilized various methods, including registering new accounts, to withdraw funds, selling access to hacked accounts through an online store.
