Entain Departs from 140 Unregulated Markets

British gambling giant, Entain, has withdrawn from 140 regions, citing the absence of comprehensive legislative regulations in the online gambling sector. The company's decision is motivated by its commitment to meeting corporate and investment responsibilities. Entain's leadership has privately communicated to investors and employees its intention to exit the markets in the Vatican, Antarctica, Russia, and Argentina.

It is highlighted by the company that none of the regions it is departing from contributed significantly to its overall income.

Analysts suggest that this move aligns with a recent legal case involving Entain's Turkish subsidiary, which faced allegations of bribery. Subsequently, the corporation incurred a £600 million fine and committed to ceasing operations in countries characterized by poorly regulated gaming sectors.
