Hard Rock Denies Acquisition Talks with Star Casino

US-based tribal casino operator Hard Rock International has denied media reports claiming it is in talks to acquire shares in Australia's Star Casino. Earlier, Australian news agencies, citing sources, reported that Hard Rock was planning to either buy or invest in Star Casino. The Australian Financial Review (AFR) suggested that if the deal were to proceed, Star's land-based casinos would be rebranded under the Hard Rock name.

In response to these reports, Star Casino acknowledged that it had received "interest" from several external parties regarding potential transactions. However, the operator clarified that all preliminary agreements are non-binding and have not led to substantive discussions.

Star also addressed the alleged connection to Hard Rock, stating that it had not received a direct offer from the group. However, the company noted that one consortium, which includes the Pacific regional division of Hard Rock Hotels & Resorts, has expressed interest.
