Indiana Man Arrested for Attempted Robbery at Hollywood Casino

In Lawrenceburg, Indiana, an attempted robbery occurred at the Hollywood Casino, owned by Penn Entertainment. An unidentified individual entered the casino brandishing a firearm, demanding money from the cashiers. While the exact amount of the attempted theft is undisclosed, reports indicate that the endeavor was unsuccessful.

The incident escalated as the assailant threatened to open fire and take hostages. In response, law enforcement and emergency services swiftly responded to the scene. Conflicting reports suggest that the suspect may have taken a hostage during the incident, releasing them while fleeing from the police.

Despite a significant law enforcement presence and efforts to track the assailant using specialized resources such as a canine unit, drones, and a helicopter, the suspect managed to escape through a back door. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. Subsequently, 39-year-old Daniel Birdsey was apprehended by authorities and taken to the police station for processing.
