Kenosha County Votes on Proposed Land-Based Casino
In the United States, the fate of a potential casino hinges on the upcoming vote by the Kenosha County Council. The council has given approval to a proposal for the construction of a land-based casino in Wisconsin. The district's municipal authorities are set to cast their votes on January 16 to decide whether the gambling establishment will come to fruition.
Should the Kenosha officials greenlight the proposal, the Menominee Indian tribe will oversee the casino's operations. In contrast to a failed 2013 project, where the Menominee tribe attempted to launch a land-based casino, the new venture is backed by a partnership with Hard Rock International, a Florida-based company. The tribe's fresh petition aligns with the tribal casino's location requirement within federally designated Menominee territory.
The proposed development site spans 60 acres and includes plans for more than just a casino. Alongside the gaming facility, the project envisions the construction of a hotel, an auditorium boasting 2,000 seats, and various restaurants.
