The vice-president of lotteries operator Lottoland, Mike Kirwan, has voiced concern over the refusal of the Irish Department of Justice to meet with the company. This comes as the Gambling Regulations Bill 2022 is set to be introduced into Parliament this week, sparking further discussion.
According to reports in the Irish Times, Kirwan had previously written to Minister James Brown in March, seeking clarification on several comments made by him during an interview on RTE Radio 1's Drivetime program. Kirwan highlighted that some of Brown's remarks regarding restrictions on bets and winnings were inaccurate.
Despite the request for clarification and a desire to discuss reservations, the minister declined to meet with representatives from Lottoland. Kirwan emphasized the importance of addressing these concerns and seeking clarification through dialogue.
