Lottomatica Group Expands Through Acquisition of SKS365

Lottomatica Group, a leading player in the Italian gambling industry, has significantly strengthened its position with the acquisition of SKS365 Malta Holdings. The completion of this acquisition, valued at €639 million, sees Lottomatica's subsidiary GBO SpA taking full ownership of SKS365 Malta, marking a significant milestone in Lottomatica's growth strategy.

The acquisition brings under Lottomatica's umbrella the renowned Italian operator SKS365, known for its online casino brands PlanetWin365 and PlanetPay365, as well as a network of approximately a thousand bookmaker locations. Lottomatica sees this move as a strategic opportunity to enhance its presence in the Italian market and broaden its offerings to customers.

Guglielmo Angelozzi, CEO of Lottomatica, expressed confidence in the value and synergy that SKS365's brands bring to the group's portfolio. Angelozzi emphasized Lottomatica's commitment to supporting SKS365 in its continued growth trajectory, leveraging the strengths of both entities to drive success in the Italian gambling sector.

With the acquisition's confirmation, Alexander Martin, who served as CEO of SKS365, announced his departure from the company. Martin's tenure saw significant developments within SKS365, and he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the business. While Martin's departure marks a transition, Lottomatica is poised to capitalize on this strategic acquisition, further solidifying its position as a key player in the Italian gambling landscape.
