Macau Legend Development Ltd, the operator behind Fisherman's Wharf in Macau, has once again extended the timeline for finalizing agreements related to the proposed sale of a casino resort in Laos. The new deadline is now set for May 3, after the original sale date in February was postponed multiple times amid negotiations concerning Savan Legend Resorts in Laos.
The announcement of the sale of the integrated resort was initially made in June 2023. A letter expressing interest in purchasing the establishment was signed by Shundo Yoshinari of Japan, agreeing to acquire the complex for $45 million. Macau Legend had previously indicated that the potential sale would bolster its cash flow and financial strength for its operations in Macau.
According to the latest data, Macau Legend incurred a net loss of $4.9 million Hong Kong dollars ($630 thousand) in 2023.
