Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) Hosts Successful Betting Integrity Conference

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) recently organized its inaugural Sports Betting Integrity Conference, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to fostering transparency and integrity within the gaming industry. The conference served as a platform for stakeholders to engage in open dialogue, share knowledge, and reaffirm their dedication to combating corruption and unethical practices in sports betting.

Key representatives from various sectors attended the event, including UEFA, the International Olympic Committee, the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA), and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime. Additionally, executives from leading software developers such as Genius Sports and Sportradar participated in the conference.

Law enforcement agencies, including the Maltese police, the Maltese Sports Integrity Authority, and the Attorney General's Office, also contributed to the discussions.

In his opening address, MGA CEO Charles Mizzi emphasized the authority's unwavering commitment to upholding the integrity of sports betting. He underscored that ensuring fairness and transparency in sports betting is not merely a regulatory obligation but a fundamental aspect of creating a sustainable gaming environment. Mizzi reiterated the conference's primary objective of fostering collaboration among stakeholders to address the multifaceted challenges associated with maintaining integrity in sports and sports betting.
