MGA Withdraws License of Super7Plus in Regulatory Sweep
The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has revoked the license of Super7Plus, marking the third such action against online casino operators in a single week. This follows the withdrawal of licenses from Winners Malta Operations and Genesis Global, due to a heightened regulatory vigilance by the MGA.
Super7Plus is now mandated to discontinue all gaming activities under its MGA license and remove any references to it from its platform. It’s facing a five-day deadline from the notice date to settle all requirements. Additionally, Super7Plus is forced to facilitate withdrawals for players or return funds directly.
The MGA, however, has not disclosed specific reasons for this series of license revocations. This action is part of a broader regulatory clampdown that also saw the suspension of Rush Gaming's license, impacting its Fansbet.com and Onebet.com operations, alongside with the cancellation of Betago's license.
In a related development, the MGA announced in December that Charles Mizzi would succeed Carl Brincat as the new chief executive, starting January 26.
