In a statement to Forbes, MGM spokesperson Jenn Michaels unequivocally dismissed the notion of any outstanding debt owed by Mars, stating that such claims are baseless and unsubstantiated. Michaels emphasized the longstanding and mutually beneficial partnership between Mars and MGM, emphasizing that any insinuation of financial liabilities is categorically false.
These denials come in response to a report from NewsNation alleging that Mars had accrued gambling debts totaling $50 million with MGM Casino. However, Michaels pointed out that the report relied on an anonymous source, casting doubt on its credibility.
Mars, known for hits like "Uptown Funk" and "24K Magic," has maintained a business relationship with MGM since 2016. As part of the arrangement, he has performed at MGM's venues in Las Vegas and Maryland. Despite the recent speculation, Mars' association with MGM remains intact, with the singer extending his agreement to include further performances in Las Vegas in the summer of 2023.
