The Dutch gambling regulator, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), has revealed its supervisory program for 2024, emphasizing four key areas of focus. The first involves ensuring the protection of vulnerable players to prevent addiction, a goal pursued through measures like the advertising ban introduced in 2023.
KSA is committed to combating illegal online casinos, aiming to transition at least 90% of the country's players from the unregulated gambling market to legal operators. However, industry experts, such as Ismail Wali from Yield Sec, suggest that the regulator's strategy in 2023 was not entirely successful.
Additionally, KSA pledges to offer support to partners, including the police and tax authorities, in administrative and criminal investigations. Lastly, the regulator underscores the importance of compliance with accurate data reporting, aiming for timely, complete, and correct information dissemination.
