New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin has announced the commencement of a campaign aimed at educating the public about the potential negative consequences associated with gambling.
To effectively convey the message, the campaign will employ extensive online advertising efforts, with messages and videos strategically timed to coincide with major sporting events such as the NBA Playoffs, Stanley Cup Finals, Summer Olympics, and other significant occasions.
In his statement regarding the campaign launch, Matthew Platkin emphasized the importance of addressing gambling-related issues, stating, "Legalization has brought gambling out of the shadows, and for most people, gambling does not create problems. However, we have a responsibility to provide effective solutions for those struggling with gambling addiction."
The campaign will focus on raising awareness about the various resources available to individuals affected by gambling addiction, including comprehensive prevention and recovery programs. Additionally, residents will be educated on responsible gaming practices and how to offer support to those in need.
Scheduled to run until 2025, the campaign underscores New Jersey's commitment to promoting responsible gambling behaviors and providing assistance to individuals experiencing gambling-related challenges.
