Hong Kong police have apprehended nine individuals for involvement in illegal gambling and the operation of unauthorized gambling establishments. The arrests occurred during the lunar holidays celebrating the Chinese New Year.
Law enforcement officials discovered an illicit gambling kiosk on Sham Shui Po Street, where individuals were encouraged to participate in the "Fish-Shrimp-Crab" game. Concerns from local residents prompted the police intervention, leading to the confiscation of HK$700 in cash and various gambling-related paraphernalia.
The "Fish-Shrimp-Crab" game originated in Vietnam and involves three dice with symbols replacing traditional numbers. Players make bets on the symbols, and winnings are determined based on the outcome of the dice rolls.
