North Carolina Man Steals $240,000, Spends it on Gambling

A resident of Holly Springs, North Carolina, named Kyle Fisher, has confessed to stealing nearly $240,000 from the charity LISTEN Community Services, where he served as executive director. The charity is dedicated to providing services to vulnerable populations. Fisher abused his position over the period from August 2016 to October 2022, misappropriating the funds, which he primarily spent on gambling at Massachusetts casinos.

The prosecutor's office revealed transaction records, including withdrawal transactions from January 2022, indicating Fisher's unauthorized access to the charity's PayPal account. On that day, he transferred $4,787 to his personal account and spent it at a gambling establishment. Subsequently, Fisher continued similar activities until his actions were discovered. U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young has now officially acknowledged the criminal activity. The case has been ongoing since 2023.
