Ocean Casino increased revenue in September, though Hard Rock and Borgata lead the way

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Control has reported gaming revenue for September 2023. Despite a 2% decrease in casino winnings from the previous year, overall revenue still increased, with online gaming winnings jumping 21% and sports betting revenue up 13%. Total gaming revenue is up 8% since September 2022.

Among the nine casino hotels in the state, Borgata collected the most revenue in September 2023, about $107.4 million, but that revenue reflects a 5% decline from the previous year, when Borgata earned $113.5 million in September 2022. Second place in revenue was Hard Rock with $58.2 million, ahead of Golden Nugget, which had revenue of $57.9 million, representing a 14% increase for Hard Rock and a 21% increase for Golden Nugget. Ocean Casino recorded the highest revenue growth among all casinos, with a 33% increase in revenue since September 2022. Ocean Casino earned $44.7 million in September 2023, up from $33.5 million last year, making it one of the most interesting properties to watch in the coming months.

Tropicana and Harrah's reported revenue down 3% from last year, with revenue of $33.8 million and $22.5 million, respectively. However, Harrah's caught the eye with a significant 454% increase in sports betting revenue.
