Pennsylvania Regulator Imposes Fines on Two Operators for Law Violations

The Gaming Control Board of Pennsylvania has fined two operators a total of $212.5 thousand for breaching gambling laws.

Mountainview Thoroughbred Racing faced two misdemeanors related to improper protocols on Penn Interactive Ventures' platforms, allowing users to create multiple accounts using others' personal information. This enabled scammers to deposit stolen funds and withdraw winnings.

Mountainview also received a $50 thousand fine for allowing underage access to the gaming room.

Sugarhouse HSP Gaming, the second operator, was fined $65 thousand for failing to meet minimum staffing requirements at Rivers Philadelphia casino within the stipulated timeframe and not promptly informing regulators and local police about a voucher theft incident.
