Philippine authorities have commenced the deportation of 180 Chinese individuals employed by a local offshore gaming operator (POGO) in Pasay City. These workers were engaged in illegal employment and lacked proper immigration documents.
Law enforcement classified the establishment where these Chinese workers were employed as a gambling facility. The Republic of the Philippines' police stated that the operators of this illicit casino were involved in various activities, including human trafficking. Cielo Villaluna, the spokesperson for Philippine Airlines, affirmed the airline's collaboration with local authorities in transporting the Chinese citizens back to their homeland.
A task force, led by the Presidential Commission on Combating Organized Crime and the Ministry of Justice, uncovered nine cash vaults within the premises of the illegal casino.
