PokerStars Unveils APPT Tournaments Set in Manila
PokerStars, renowned for its global poker events, has disclosed plans for two tournaments as part of the prestigious Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) in 2024. Both events are scheduled to be held in Manila, the capital city of the Philippines. The tournaments will take place at the Okada Manila Casino Resort, a renowned venue boasting expansive poker rooms alongside luxurious accommodations, signature dining options, and the largest gaming floors in the nation.
The APPT Manila is slated to run from July 24 to August 5, while the championship event will take place from October 18 to 27. Anticipated to draw significant participation, the first event boasts a guaranteed prize pool of $2.15 million, while the championship event offers an even larger prize pool of $2.52 million.
Byron Yip, President and Chief Operating Officer of Okada Manila, emphasized the significance of the partnership with PokerStars, highlighting the resort's stature as a premier gaming and entertainment destination in the region. Yip underscored that hosting the prestigious poker tournaments at Okada Manila underscores the ongoing efforts to position Manila as a hub for entertainment and leisure pursuits.
