Law enforcement agencies have revealed details about two raids conducted in Perth, Australia, in 2023. Police seized nearly $190,000 in cash, playing cards, and chips from illegal gambling establishments in two Western Australian suburbs. Authorities suspect the involvement of Crown Casino employees, the country's largest gambling house.
Besides the cash, police discovered tens of thousands of dollars in casino chips, baccarat table coverings, and game cards. Allegedly, a former Crown Casino employee recruited three other dealers from the same establishment to organize games for criminal gangs in the city. All individuals involved in the illegal establishment had previously had their gambling permits revoked.
In the second operation, police found 16 players previously banned from the casino and $60,000. A 35-year-old employee of the establishment pleaded guilty to money laundering and had also previously worked for Crown Casino.
