Premier League footballers sponsored by gambling operators

More than half of the clubs in the Premier League have partnerships with gambling operators or bookmakers. All teams, except Chelsea, have already announced their primary sponsors for the upcoming 2024-25 season, which begins in August.

Bournemouth is the latest club to reveal its main sponsorship deal, featuring the logo of betting company bj88 on their kits this season. The club’s commercial director, Rob Mitchell, noted that this new partnership represents a record deal for Bournemouth, emphasising that “the investment will significantly impact our ability to compete in the Premier League both on and off the field.”

Bj88, primarily recognised in Asia, is reportedly aiming to expand its presence in the UK. Visitors to the newly launched BJ-88.co.uk website have indicated that the new bookmaker and casino services will soon be available to UK players.

Additionally, bj88 holds an official partnership with Bologna and has previously collaborated with cricketer Kevin Pietersen.

Looking ahead to the 2024-2025 season, several prominent teams will feature gambling or bookmaker brands, including Aston Villa, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Everton, Fulham, Leicester, Nottingham Forest, Southampton, West Ham, and Wolverhampton.
