Governor Pedro Pierluisi of Puerto Rico has announced the opening of a lottery prize exchange center in the municipality of Camuy, catering to the northwestern region of the island. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Finance Minister Francisco Pares Alicea, Assistant Secretary of the Lottery Bureau Lorna Huertas Padilla, and other government officials.
"In honor of the lottery's 90th anniversary, I renew my commitment to supporting and strengthening Puerto Rico's lottery business. It is an engine that contributes to the progress and well-being of our citizens," stated Pierluisi during the ceremony.
The exchange center is designed to distribute prizes to both traditional and electronic lottery winners. Padilla highlighted that there are over 800 licensed establishments in the region selling lottery tickets. Camuy Mayor Cabriel Hernandez emphasized that the center would efficiently process the winnings of thousands of residents in the northern region.
