Three gamblers under federal investigation for illegal sports betting have lost nearly $24 million at Resorts World in Las Vegas since the casino opened less than three years ago. This revelation could have significant consequences for the establishment, which is currently under investigation by federal authorities in California.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board has also initiated an investigation involving several casinos, according to Nevada Current. While Resorts World has not been charged with any wrongdoing, the scrutiny remains intense.
Michael Lawton, a spokesman for the Gaming Control Board, emphasized that third-party representatives who receive compensation based on their clients' level of play and losses per trip must be registered with the state and pass background checks. This regulatory requirement aims to ensure transparency and accountability in the casino industry.
