A personnel shortage in the Russian gambling sector has reached 15%, with operators expressing concerns about a lack of croupiers and waiters. Experts warn that the deficit may escalate to 25% in the near future, exacerbating the staffing challenges faced by casinos.
As of the start of 2024, Russian operators, including Krasnaya Polyana, Sibirskaya Moneta, and Primorye, collectively employed over 4,200 individuals. However, they currently face a shortfall of approximately 760 employees to achieve full staffing.
Dmitry Anfinogenov, the head of the Association of Entertainment and Event Tourism Operators (AIRIS), attributes the personnel shortage to the expansion of gambling zones in Russia. He notes that operators are focusing on developing tourism services, but there is a limited pool of individuals willing to work as croupiers.
Anfinogenov highlights that the number of casino guests in Russia has seen significant growth over the past four years. In 2023, the audience for Russian gambling games reached a record 1.5 million people, reflecting a 16% increase compared to the previous year.
