SEGA Sammy announces acquisition of Stakelogic gaming platform for €130 million
Japanese video game powerhouse SEGA Sammy has announced its acquisition of the Dutch gaming platform Stakelogic for €130 million, a move aimed at bolstering its gambling portfolio.
"Stakelogic excels in creating content for the virtual gambling sector, which aligns with our strategic focus. By integrating their technology and content with SEGA Sammy's existing land-based operations, we anticipate significant growth in our gaming business," the company stated.
SEGA plans to leverage Stakelogic's proprietary live casino and slot technologies to enhance its GAN platform and strengthen its footprint in the U.S. gambling market, where Stakelogic holds licences in Rhode Island, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
The acquisition is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2026, after which SEGA Sammy will fully own Stakelogic. Strengthening its gaming development has been a top priority for SEGA Sammy in 2024, following the signing of a definitive agreement in November 2023 to acquire GAN and expand into the U.S. gambling landscape.
