Sri Lankan casino billboards to be taken down in Goa

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that billboards promoting Sri Lankan online gaming casinos will be removed in Goa. He assured the legislative assembly that the state's advertising policy would be updated, stating, "We will operate within legal frameworks alongside the police and home ministry. In the first phase, we will dismantle or remove the billboards, ensuring that such advertising is not permitted.

Our government does not benefit from this." Sawant expressed his anger over the presence of foreign casino advertisements in Goa, pledging to take action against these "unauthorised" billboards, even if they do not explicitly mention the casinos.

Vijay Sardesai, a member of parliament, supported the Chief Minister's stance, highlighting that a formal complaint has been filed with the Deputy Home Minister but has yet to elicit a response. He mentioned that these billboards are located along routes to the Mopa and Dabolim airports.
