Two Californians Dispute Over Lottery Win Before Court
In the state of California, a feud erupted between two residents, Jose Rivera and Edwin Castro, over a winning lottery ticket worth 2 billion dollars. Rivera has sued the Powerball lottery winner, Castro, claiming that the latter won unlawfully and actually stole the ticket from him. Despite skepticism from lawyers regarding Rivera’s claim, he remains adamant about his rights.
According to Rivera, his focus is on the truth, not the money, and he describes the situation with Castro as a “war.” Rivera aims to prove that he was the one who purchased the ticket, alleging that his former landlord, Castro, dishonestly took it from him a day before the jackpot draw.
Amidst the investigation, Rivera himself faces charges for filing a false police report, which could lead to imprisonment of up to six months. Nevertheless, Rivera is determined to continue fighting for his claim.
