WinStar Customer Data Leaked Online Due to Application Glitch

The personal information of users registered in the application of the world's largest land-based casino, WinStar, has been exposed online due to a glitch. The application allows customers to access rewards and track their earnings at the casino.

According to a report by analysts from the technology service TechCrunch, the startup Dexiga, responsible for developing protection for the WinStar application, inadvertently left one of the databases without proper security measures. This lapse meant that anyone with the directory's IP address could access customers' personal data through a web browser. TechCrunch notified Dexiga of the potential hacking risk, prompting the startup to take the database offline to mitigate the situation.

The leaked personal information included names, contact details, and addresses. While some data was hidden, it was not encrypted.
