World Poker Tour Expresses Interest in Returning to Macau

The World Poker Tour (WPT) has conveyed its interest in returning to Macau for major tournament series. Despite legal challenges, WPT CEO Adam Pliska expressed enthusiasm about exploring Macau as a potential venue for a series of tournaments.

Pliska stated his eagerness to collaborate with the Chinese government and other stakeholders to overcome obstacles and ensure the success of the competitions. He emphasized the growing importance of Asia as a region for WPT, citing successful tournaments in Taiwan, Cambodia, and India in 2023.

However, Macau faces limitations on the number of gaming tables, and large-scale poker tournaments have not taken place since 2018 due to restrictions imposed by Chinese authorities. Pliska remains optimistic about finding a resolution to bring WPT events back to Macau.
