PUBG Corporation, creators of the battle royale shooter PUBG: Battlegrounds, announced the expansion of its esports partnership program for 2024. Additionally, existing partnership agreements will undergo a reevaluation process, as stated by the company’s representatives.
The partnership program was first announced at the end of 2022, with globally renowned esports teams such as NAVI, FaZe Clan, and Gen.G becoming the initial partners. These teams benefit from financial advantages and guaranteed access to all major PUBG tournaments.
Developers specified that three criteria – fan club, team history, and stability – will be considered for the partnership program. This time, a significant focus will be on the fandom, meaning the team’s popularity among esports fans.
PUBG annually hosts international tournaments, attracting bookmakers’ betting offers. Notably, the corporation concluded its 2023 World Championship at the end of November, where the Korean team Danawa e-sports emerged victorious.
