In the 2023 financial year, Austria's gaming industry experienced a notable increase in gross gaming revenue, reaching €1.48 billion, marking a 4.4% rise compared to the previous year. The primary contributor to this growth was the lottery sector, which emerged as the leader in earnings.
Specifically, net lottery turnover witnessed a 1.5% uptick, reaching €946.8 million. Meanwhile, within the Casinos Austria division, revenue surged by 15.8%, totaling €304.5 million. Additionally, Casinos Austria International reported a profit of €212.1 million. Overall, the consolidated profit for the year amounted to €182.8 million, reflecting an 18.3% increase.
In the WINWIN video lottery terminal segment, revenue saw a 3.3% year-on-year growth. Notably, the group's contribution to taxes and duties reached €734 million in 2023, marking a 4.8% increase from 2022. This underscores Casinos Austria's position as one of the largest taxpayers in the country, highlighting its significant economic contribution.
