Online operator Betsson has announced that it will terminate its Betsafe brand operations in Colorado by the end of September this year, marking it as the fifth operator to exit the state's betting market. Just last month, Betfred also pulled out of Colorado.
Beginning September 6, Betsafe will stop accepting new player registrations and deposits. On September 16, betting will no longer be allowed, and players will have until September 27 to withdraw their funds. All accounts will be closed on September 30.
This development arrives in the wake of a recent report indicating that Colorado's sports betting volume rose by 12.8%, reaching $350.8 million. Of this total, $348.9 million was wagered online, with the remaining $1.5 million placed with retail bookmakers.
As expected, baseball was the most popular sport for betting, attracting $104.5 million in wagers. Basketball followed in second place with $59.2 million, while football secured third place with $27.6 million in bets.
