Revenue from betting in New York exceeded $200 million in May, with a total of $203.3 million. This marked a 33.8% increase from the previous year. The state's record for betting revenue was set in January, when it reached $211.5 million.
Mobile sports betting volume in New York for the month totalled $1.97 billion, up 45.9% year-over-year and the most since November 2023, when a record was set for the segment.
Since legalising online sports betting in 2022, the state has seen impressive growth in the segment; New York has become the largest contributor to betting tax revenue in the U.S., accounting for over 37% of the total.
